Mario and Mabel Pistolesi opened the Clearview Restaurant in 1952. The Clearview Motel opened in 1968. The restaurant and motel served residents and visitors to the area with quality accommodations and fine dining for many years.

In 2006, the Clearview Restaurant became Mullin's Family Restaurant. But the Clearview Motel continues to offer clean, safe, and convenient accommodation when you stay in the Gouverneur area.

In 2021, the motel was purchased by the Perrigo family. They have made a number of improvements, but the motel is still a "traditional" motel with family-friendly service.
